Over the past year, J.H. Berry has continued its commitment to give back to its community by participating in fundraisers and events benefiting philanthropies across Birmingham. Our team members are active participants on organization boards, allowing us an up-close look at how community service is changing lives in our city.
Junior Achievement Bowling & Top Golf
Our team participated in two events benefiting Junior Achievement of Alabama – a day at Top Golf in February and a bowling night in August. Our CFO, Jennifer Mummert, serves on the board for this organization, supporting its mission to prepare local students for successful business careers.
Oasis Counseling Art Card
Callan Sherrod, brokerage relations specialist at J.H. Berry, helped lead another successful Art Card event in June, advancing Oasis Counseling as it supports women and children by providing affordable mental health counseling.
CCA Birmingham Crawfest
In May, our team participated in the annual Coastal Conservation Association Birmingham Crawfest at the Birmingham Zoo. Will Hollingsworth is a member of the organization’s board. The CCA helps advance conservation efforts along Alabama’s coast.
AWF Wildlife Federation and Exceptional Foundation Cookoff
J.H. Berry & Gilbert participated in the 2018 Alabama Wildlife Federation Foundation’s Wild Game Cookoff and the Exceptional Foundation Chili Cook Off, which benefits this local organization’s aim to support local citizens with special needs.
ACRE Culverhouse Conference
Our team attended the Alabama Center for Real Estate Culverhouse Conference in February to learn more about the latest industry trends and to network with other CRE professionals.
UAB Dodgeball Tournament – Dodging for Degrees
In October, our team participated in UAB’s Dodging for Degrees event. This event benefits UAB’s Junior Advisory Board Scholarship Program, which was established to financially support young alumni of the School of Health Professions to ensure they have the funds necessary to successfully enter the workforce.
CREW Network Convention
Callan Sherrod attended the CREW Network Convention, an opportunity for women in the commercial real estate industry across the country to support one another through network and business resource sharing.
