John Hardin, vice president of office sales and leasing at J.H. Berry & Gilbert, Inc., has more than 30 years of experience focusing on tenant, landlord and property owner representation. His thorough understanding of his client’s needs has enabled him to successfully represent notable clients such as D.R. Horton, Shell Oil Company, First Commercial Bank, the Diocese of Birmingham, TekLinks, Temenos and Peak Season, Inc.
Career Experience & Accomplishments
Prior to joining J.H. Berry, John was a founding partner of Highland Realty Services, a local commercial real estate firm. Before Highland, John was the regional partner for a South Carolina-based land development and investment company. Additionally, John spent more than six years as a director in the development group for a regional commercial development firm. In the early years of his career, John was active in the Washington D.C. and Dallas/Fort Worth real estate markets, leasing office and industrial properties for two national commercial development firms, Trammell Crow Company and Lincoln Property Company. John holds his Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) designation and is the past president of the Alabama CCIM Chapter. He has earned the Co-Star Power Broker Award and is a member of the Million Dollar Sales Club and the Birmingham Association of Realtors.
As an active member in the Birmingham community, John is currently active with the Boy Scouts of America’s Greater Alabama Council. He serves on the Construction and Real Estate Committee for the United Way and is the secretary of the board for St. Vincent’s Foundation and the chairman of the Diocese of Birmingham’s Property Committee. Moreover, John was a Paul Harris Fellow for Rotary International – Inverness. He has served on the board of Villa Maria, the Young Executive Board for Compass Bank, Camp Smile-A-Mile board of directors, Leadership Shelby County board and on the Diocesan Board of Education. John was also recognized as one of Birmingham Business Journal’s Top 40 Under 40.
