Career Experience & Accomplishments
Prior to joining J.H. Berry, John was a founding partner of Highland Realty Services, a local commercial real estate firm. Before Highland, John was the regional partner for a South Carolina-based land development and investment company. Additionally, John spent more than six years as a director in the development group for a regional commercial development firm. In the early years of his career, John was active in the Washington D.C. and Dallas/Fort Worth real estate markets, leasing office and industrial properties for two national commercial development firms, Trammell Crow Company and Lincoln Property Company. John holds his Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) designation and is the past president of the Alabama CCIM Chapter. He has earned the Co-Star Power Broker Award.
As an active member in the Birmingham community, John has been actively involved with the Boy Scouts of America and has served on the board for St. Vincent’s Foundation, Villa Maria, Leadership Shelby County, Diocesan Board of Education, Camp Smile-A-Mile, Compass Bank Young Executive Board and is the chairman of the Diocese’s Property Committee. John was a Paul Harris Fellow for Rotary International – Inverness. John was also recognized as one of Birmingham Business Journal’s Top 40 Under 40.
