Huntsville logistics center groundbreaking event
A sizable industrial park is coming the city of Huntsville near several industry giants, and two Birmingham-based firms closed the deal on the land.
J.H. Berry & Gilbert Inc. and Graham & Co. sealed a land deal for a new industrial development consisting of a total of 2.2 million square feet of leasable space. The development will include four buildings situated on +/- 132 acres located at Old Highway 20 and Gunters Way, just off County Line Road.
The first phase of the Class A industrial development is expected to be delivered in Q1 of 2024.
Edwin Moss and Philip Currie of Birmingham-based J.H. Berry & Gilbert Inc. represented Flint Development in the acquisition of the land. Bart Smith, Tyler Fanning, and John Coleman of Graham & Co. represented the seller in the acquisition of land.
“Huntsville is the fastest growing city in Alabama, and we believe the Huntsville Logistics Center is a perfect site for both logistics and industrial businesses with its strategic location between the new Greenbrier Parkway and the Huntsville airport,” said Edwin Moss, J.H. Berry & Gilbert executive vice president, according to a release. “The Flint Development team that will be delivering this project has extensive experience and has delivered several similar Class A projects around the country. We are honored to be a part this new addition to the Huntsville landscape.”
Buildings 1 and 3 will be expandable up to +/-1,261,980 square feet, and Buildings 2 and 4 will be expandable up to 939,060 square feet. All four buildings have the ability to accommodate tenants with large square footage, heavy transportation or utility needs. The site is located within access to I-565, Mazda Toyota Manufacturing U.S.A. campus and the Huntsville International Airport.
According to AL.com, the $200 million project broke ground last Wednesday.
