John Hardin, CCIM, vice president of office sales and leasing at J.H. Berry & Gilbert, was quoted in the Birmingham Business Journal regarding his part in the sale of a prominent Homewood office building. The property, located at 300 West Valley Drive, recently sold for $300,000. Both Philip Currie, SIOR, CCIM, president, and Hardin of J.H. Berry represented the seller, First National Life Insurance Co. of America, in the transaction. “We are glad we were able to assist First National Life Insurance Co. of America in the sale of its final asset in Birmingham,” said Hardin. “It will serve as a great headquarters for the new owner.” The buyer is an investment entity tied to a restaurant management group, which plans to occupy a majority of the building for its headquarters with plans to lease the remaining space to third-party tenants.
