What do you enjoy most about your role at J.H. Berry?
I like that my role has a strong focus on networking. I always enjoy getting to meet new people.
Your involvement in over $50 million of construction volume at an early stage in your career is an impressive accomplishment. What are a few important industry principles you’ve learned so far that you will use moving forward in your career?
The principles that have helped me thus far in my career can carry over into any industry (unless you are on the PGA Tour). In my opinion, teamwork, persistence and client-service are the main ingredients to any successful project or pursuit. I have also been incredibly lucky to work under and learn from some very sharp people who are leaders in their industry. That never hurts.
Much of your previous professional experience in business development and project management was highly relational. How did this experience prepare you for your responsibilities at J.H. Berry?
A business development background is a versatile one that translates well into office leasing, especially when representing tenants and trying to get plugged into what is going on in the market.
You are highly involved in the Birmingham community. Is there a club, cause or organization about which you are most passionate?
They are all great organizations, so I would have a hard time picking one. The Birmingham Rotoract Club is the largest in the world and has a diverse membership and huge service footprint. The Phoenix Club focuses all of their efforts on the Boys and Girls Club of Central Alabama which allows us to make a huge impact on one group. Both make a large impact on the community, which is why I am proud to be involved in both.
